Hiking
There is a variety of hiking trails expecting you in the beauty of Cape Breton. Take a hike to beautiful waterfalls or enjoy the diverse trails in the National Park in Cheticamp.

Swimming
The ocean with its many wonderful beaches is the perfect opportunity for a great day with the family. They can be reached by car witin 10-15 minutes. Our outdoor pool is also open during the summer months for you to cool down.

Sea - Kayaking
Sea-Kayaking trips are available on the Bras d'or Lake or on the ocean with a guide.

Boating
On the Bras d'or Lakes there are different possibilities. Go for a trip on a 42' cruise boat or enjoy sailing.

Fishing
Fly fishing for Atlantic Salmon or Trout (check our site). In Margaree we have also a trout fish pond, which is especially fun for the kids.

Horseback riding
In Cheticamp, which is reached in 35 minutes by car, you can enjoy a nice beach ride in a comfortable western saddle or a 3 hours mountain ride for experienced riders.

Whale watching
This is something you should not miss out on. A boat will take you out in Cheticamp and give you an opportunity to see these beautiful animals in their nature. You may also get to see dolphins. The view on the west coast and the Cabot Trail from the water is also very special.

Cape Breton Highland National Park
The trip on the Cabot Trail through the National Park (day trip) is a must for everyone who comes to Cape Breton. The breathtaking scenery with its endless drops along the coast will leave you speechless. Come and see for yourself what everyone is talking about; let it sink in and you will never forget this place. There are many great opportunities along the trail and in the park for you to take pictures but the true beauty will be stored in your heart.

Fortress of Louisbourg
A visit to the Fortress of Louisbourg (day trip) will take you back in time in this replica of the 250-year-old city. With the dressed up actors the atmosphere of the time really comes to shine and makes it an interesting and informative trip into the 18th Century.

Wild Park
You can be sure to see wild animals in the wildlife park Mira River (day trip).

Whale Centre
In Pleasant Bay you can find the extraordinary Whale Center. Here you will enter the world of the whales. Whale models to scale, exhibitions, etc.

Whiskey Distillery
Visit North America's only Single Malt Whiskey distillery in Glenora.

Celtic Colours
The famous international music festival CELTIC COLOURS starts every beginning of October and ends in the middle of the month. Fiddle music and step dancing from Celtic background entertain the crowds that come from all over the world.

Alexander-Graham-Bell-Museum
This quite interesting museum is dedicated to the inventor of the Telephone and can be found in Baddeck.
